Lita Rossana Ford (also also known by the name Lita Ford) is an British born American guitarist who was the lead of The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. The group was admired by their raunchy lyrics and punkish style. Although the band was not successful in The United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford enjoyed a lengthy and successful career as a heavy-metal solo artist after the group split up in 1979. After receiving voice lessons, Ford released her debut solo album "Out for Blood" followed by "Dancin on the Edge". Both albums failed to get much attention and Ford just vanished from the rock world for a few years. Her smashing hit, 'Lita was released in the year 1989. The lead track "Kiss My Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were huge hits. Unfortunately, her popularity was brief and she disappeared from the world of music for a number of decades. Her return came when she released 'Black' in 1995. Then she released 'Wicked wonderland' about 15 years later. Her most recent album "Time Capsule" was launched in 2016. She was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
